Hey, I am 15 and I love movies such as:
Romeo and Juliet (1996)
The Thin Red Line (1998)
Schlinder's List (1994)
The Truman Show (1998)
Casablanca (1943)
Shawshank Redemption (1994)
Or any that adopt an original, impacting and stylish use of cinematography. Here are my questions:
1) How do you use Voice-overs (VO) on digital format?
2) In "Three Kings" and "Romeo & Juliet" they use the jagged camerawork effect with precision, how do you get that kind of jagged camerawork quality out of digital?
3) Finally, for my preference of filmmaking, what type of camcorder should I use?:
VHS, Hi or DV/Digital8

1) How do you use Voice-overs (VO) on digital format?

When dealing with Digital, all effects (that maintain good quality) are digital. Basicly, you have to have a Computer with a IEEE 1394 (or FireWire) Port to interface with your digital camera. Plus, you have to have editing Software. Of course, you could just patch a microphone in the "audio in" port on the camera, but it'll sound like crap.

3) Finally, for my preference of filmmaking, what type of camcorder should I use?: VHS, Hi or DV/Digital8

I always use lists so:

UMatic (3/4 and 1 inch tapes. Great quality, but the tapes cost more than some camcorders)
SVHS
DV
Digital8
8mm
VHS
VHS-C
